In order to standardize the locomotive functions, I have chosen the following. My decisions are based on these factors. I like Soundtraxx because of the automatic DDE sounds.
1. Use the standard values as much as possible.
2. Keep functions that show on the Power Pro/Cab at F6 or less so they always show in the window. This is especially important for the brake so you know when it is on.
3. Insure the most used functions are single button presses.
4. Next group is F10-F12
5. All the rest.
